He better keep his promise! If he doesn’t, Jay-Z will have something to say about it. Along with his new vow to do away with auto-tune came the unfortunate introduction of the pathetic-sounding “T-Pain Effect.”
The title “The T-Pain Effect” makes it sound like he’s just renaming auto-tune, which would be rather unfortunate. The rapper is aiming to create a new type of vocal processing…because the world totally needs more of those.
He will reveal whatever the hell the T-Pain Effect actually is on June 7 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles.
T-Pain believes that The T-Pain Effect will be “bigger and better” than auto-tune. I wish that was reassuring, but that doesn’t make it sound any more promising. In any case, he can only go up from here.
