Paris, Milan, New York. . . Scottsdale?
Okay, so maybe we aren’t top billing for fashion hot spots, but with the ever-increasing flow of higher fashion retail possibilities pouring into the Valley, we may get there someday, dammit. And if you happened to be in Scottsdale on Friday, November 3, you may have noticed a little fashion fiesta at the “Scottsdale Utopia” Fashion Show by The Waterfront, where hordes of hot chicks and stylish chaps put on their finest Scottsdale bar-hopping threads to kick off their weekend.
The fashionistas roped off Marshall Way and created a high-class block-party atmosphere, complete with an 85-foot runway. Live music set the beat while guests munched free food and sipped drinks. The “Wellness Pavilion” offered tables full of goodies and prizes from various Valley spas, providing a perfect way to kill time until the big show. At 8 p.m., the eager crowd surrounded the runway to watch as models in the latest fashions by Neiman Marcus stomped down the runway to AC/DC’s “You Shook Me All Night Long” and other rock ‘n’ roll crowd-pleasers. Drinks and dancing filled the rest of the evening until the event ended at 11 p.m., giving guests plenty of time to hit the clubs before last call.
