Tom Hanks has big plans to move American Idiot into movie theaters, according to Consequence of Sound.
Considering that Hanks and the guys of Green Day are involved in the film, there’s little doubt that it’ll bring a lot of people into theaters. Plus, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong is rumored to play the lead role in the movie, so he would be playing the same character as he did when he occasionally took part in the musical.
The announcement has come right in time to keep the American Idiot spirit alive since the musical is only running through April 24.
It will be interesting to see how involved Tom Hanks will get as a producer and what he will makes of the American Idiot story. Will it has a touch of Forrest Gump or The Terminal?
