After six years, Tempe based weirdo rockers (it’s a compliment) Tugboat are calling it quits.

“The idea was up in the air,” Phillip Hanna told Up on the Sun’s Christina Caldwell. “Because we kept thinking ‘Oh, we’ve been doing this for six years. How long can we keep going?'”

Not much longer, but the band’s final show this Saturday night at The Rogue should be an emotional affair. The band is joined by friends The Lot Casters, The Madera Strand, The Sweet Repose, and NEBA.

“If there’s a legacy, I’d just like to be remembered for doing good, honest music,” Hanna said. “We just kind of did exactly what we liked doing.”
