Lots of musicians use their platform and notoriety to score DJ gigs. And why not? Picking the music is fun.
Chris Baio, known for manning the bass guitar in Vampire Weekend (a band whose name combines things very “in” right now: vampires and weekends), sort of did things in reverse. He worked side jobs as a DJ before Vampire Weekend took off, and he’s stuck to it, popping up at special gigs when he’s not busy with VW or his solo jams.
This weekend finds him moonlighting as a selector once again at Sticky Fingers at Bar Smith, joining William “Fucking Reed, Prince$$, Not-So-Noiz.FKR, 2ToneDisco, J. Paul, Bigie, and Blaque Panther Disco. We have three pairs of tickets to get in the door for free. Must be over 21 to win. Keep reading to score the goods.
