The WM Phoenix Open’s Concert in the Coliseum isn’t just a wildly popular annual event – it’s an award-winning one.
For the second consecutive year, the WM Phoenix Open won “Best Special Event” for the concert at the PGA Tour’s annual tournament meeting. The meeting was held last week in Orlando, Florida.
The Concert in the Coliseum is a one-night-only event held on the 16th hole of TPC Scottsdale before the actual start of the tournament. This year, Post Malone played to a crowd of 12,000 people on Feb. 3.
“This award highlights the creativity and dedication of everyone involved in making the Concert in the Coliseum a success,” George Thimsen, tournament chairman for the 2024 WM Phoenix Open and president of Thunderbirds Charities said in a media announcement. “We’re proud to create an event that not only entertains fans but also supports Thunderbirds Charities in a meaningful way.”
