Yeasayer’s new album Live at Ancienne Belgique was released on Christmas, according to Pitchfork.
The concert, which was recorded on October 28, 2010 in Brussels, has been released as a 13-track live album that is available for download on the band’s website.
As a Christmas treat from the band, fans get to name their own price — to an extent. Downloaders get to choose from prices of $0.99, 2.99, 4.99, 7.99, 9.99, and free.
Either way, that’s nice of the band to give fans that option. Personally I think the “name your own price” concept is a great idea. This is one of the best (potentially free) gifts any band has given us since Radiohead with the release of In Rainbows. Here’s to hoping that more bands get on the “name your own price” train in the future.
