ABC News has released a preview of Diane Sawyer’s interview with Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, and it remains unclear whether the congresswoman — who was shot “through the brain” during Jared Loughner’s January 8 Tucson shooting rampage — will speak on camera.
When the interview was announced in September, Giffords’ spokesman Mark Kimble said the congresswoman agreed to meet with Sawyer and appear on camera. He later clarified, saying “Congresswoman Giffords has not decided if she’s going to conduct an on-camera interview.”
In the preview, released today, Giffords appears to be speaking to Sawyer while sitting next to her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly.
Giffords office didn’t immediately respond when we asked if the congresswoman will speak on camera, but tells the Arizona Republic the interview with Sawyer is “not a full-length interview.”
