Terry Goddard says the presence of a Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office patrol car near his Phoenix home Friday morning made his family “uncomfortable.”

“This is not typical, and it made my wife and son uncomfortable,” the attorney general said in a prepared statement. “I hope the deputy was engaged in some productive law enforcement effort during that hour and a half.”

The incident follows reports that Arpaio’s office may have been showing up near the home of Superior Court Presiding Judge Barbara Mundell.

Is this a message to Goddard to do nothing with the Goldwater Institute’s clearance rate report? Or is it a complete coincidence?

What would Judge Donahoe say?

[Update: The sheriff’s office arrested 25 people at a drophouse for illegal immigrants a few blocks from Goddard’s house.]
