As a certain editor at the Arizona Republic knows, we often let many of the paper’s small screw-ups slide. Rather than call the Repub out for a minor typo in a headline, we’ll send a friendly e-mail alerting him to the problem. We’re not gonna do that today — today’s “oops” moment from Arizona’s paper of record goes beyond a minor typo and is simply too funny to ignore.
As you know, a person couldn’t be any more dead than Osama bin Laden is right now. However, according to the Republic, he was “unharmed” when shot in the face by U.S. special forces on Sunday, as you can see after the jump.
We’re gonna go out on a limb and assume the paper meant Bin Laden was “unarmed” when he was shot, a fact White House officials announced this morning.
As doubters are coming out of the woodwork claiming they need to see a picture of Bin Laden’s bullet-riddled corpse, a headline saying he was “unharmed” during the attack could definitely cause a little confusion.
