Police are asking the public’s help in tracking down a man who robbed a bank in Mesa on Friday.
In a press release from the Phoenix Police Department, (we’re not sure why it didn’t come from the Mesa Police Department, and calls to Phoenix PD Detective Mike Fischer weren’t immediately returned), officers say the suspect entered the Desert Schools Federal Credit Union at 2300 South Alma School Road in Mesa at about 3:16 p.m.
The suspect, police say, approached a teller, handed her a note and told her he wanted cash.
No weapon was seen, but the teller handed over the dough.

Cash in hand, the robber fled the bank on foot.
It’s unclear how much moolah the robber got away with in his less-than-elaborate scheme. No vehicle was seen.
The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s, about five-foot-five, and 135-140 pounds.
At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a white long-sleeve shirt under a gray, long-sleeve Tommy Hilfiger shirt, a black bandana around his neck, clear plastic safety glasses, a dark-gray Desert Fox hat, and light-blue jeans.
Anyone with any info on the robbery is asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (480-948-6377) — the fuzz is making it worth your while with a possible $1,000 reward.
