The Arizona Cardinals narrowly avoided making history today, as Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans finally sold out.

The Cards have sold out all of the 36 games at University of Phoenix Stadium and without the extension, Sunday could have been the first time the team failed to sell out the stadium.

The birds risked a T.V. blackout for the game because as of yesterday afternoon, the game wasn’t sold out.

The NFL granted the Cardinals a 24-hour extension to sell the remaining 1,000 tickets, and it appears that they have done just that.

$30,000

The game will be broadcast locally on CBS (Channel 5) at 1:15 p.m.

We should point out that the game is only “officially” sold out. You can actually still get tickets at the stadium box office or through Ticketmaster, but why bother? You can watch it on TV.
