Congressman Ben Quayle held a town hall meeting in Anthem last night. It didn’t go well for the young congressman — and the laughter of his constituents after he tried to explain government subsidies for oil companies was caught on film.
Constituents apparently aren’t thrilled with Quayle’s support of proposed cuts to Medicare — specifically cuts to the pro-choice organization Planned Parenthood (Quayle is pro-life) — and they wanted to know why these cuts needed to be made while billions of dollars of government money is being spent to make oil companies richer.
Quayle responded by saying the subsidies were just tax deductions that were not specific to the oil industry, but to all industries — which prompted rage-filled laughter from the crowd.
