After a pathetic showing in the ’09 season, most D-backs fans would probably prefer that the lovable losers not play anyone next season, let alone the soon to be World Series Champion New York Yankees.
Unfortunately for Phoenicians who don’t just go to Chase Field when the Cubs, Dodgers, or Mets are in town, the D-backs 2010 schedule is a little more balanced than last year’s, and includes a home stand with the Yankees from June 21st-23rd.
“I am extremely pleased with next year’s schedule,” Arizona team president and CEO Derrick Hall tells MLB.com. “The home games are spread out evenly throughout the months, and we have some wonderful draws like Opening Day at home, the New York Yankees and Fourth of July weekend.”
The Bronx Bombers haven’t been in the Valley for a regular season game
since 2004 and the only other time before that was when they played the
Diamondbacks in their implausible World Series victory in 2001.

During next season’s inter-league play, the Diamondbacks will also head
East to play Boston on June 15-17, Detroit on June 18-20, and
Tampa on June 25-27.
