The findings of a three-year probe into allegations of racial profiling and other civil rights allegations against Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s office will be revealed this morning by the U.S. Justice Department.
The Civil Rights Division has run a wide-ranging investigation into the “patterns and practices” of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, looking at Arpaio’s use of immigration sweeps and other heavy-handed tactics.
Thomas E. Perez, assistant attorney general for the Civil Rights Division, will announce the findings at a 10 a.m. news conference at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Phoenix.
