A French teenager apparently got a little bold with his camera yesterday afternoon and took a tumble into the Grand Canyon while trying to take a picture.

The 18-year-old teen was near the canyon’s southern rim when witnesses say he took the fall.

The teen fell about 75 feet into the canyon.

The area where he fell, Mather Point, is right behind the south rim’s visitor center, so it didn’t take long for rescue crews to reach him.

Paramedics rappelled down the face of the south rim, found him conscious, and brought him to safety.

He was taken by ambulance to the Flagstaff Medical Center, where park officials say he was treated for neck, wrist, and ankle injuries.
