Authorities are asking the public’s help in tracking down a man and a woman they believe are responsible for a Scottsdale jewelry heist last month.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the couple entered a jewelry gallery in downtown Scottsdale on December 22.
The unidentified woman looked at jewelry as the man talked on a cell phone.
The woman found a particular ring that she liked, and the man asked a gallery employee to set it aside for him so he could pick it up later in the day.

About 20 minutes later, about 7 p.m., the man returned to the store to buy the ring — and apparently steal about $20,000 worth of jewelry.
The man asked the employee to get him the ring from the back of the store so he could pay for it. Rather than pay for the ring, however, when the clerk went to the back of the store, the man reached behind the counter and stole a tray of yellow gold rings valued at about $20,000.
The man ran out of the store with the jewelry and has not been caught.
