Defense contractor Lockheed Martin announced today that it’s cutting 4,000 jobs nationwide, including 600 in Arizona.

Those 600 Arizona employees work at a 495,000-square-foot facility in Goodyear, which will close.

In a statement from the company, the jobs losses are attributed to “continued declines in U.S. government spending.”

The Goodyear facility, which houses part of Lockheed’s Information Systems and Global Solutions department, is expected to close by “early 2015.”

According to the company, most of the employees in the Arizona facility have a security clearance of some degree.
