The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is taking yet another stab at reality TV, as its jails will be the focus of the new season of MSNBC’s prison show Lockup: Extended Stay.
The show promises to give an inside look at whatever Joe Arpaio allows them to see the jail system, which the network claims in a press release is “organized and well-run.”
If by “organized and well-run” the network means blowing taxpayer money on bullshit and not being able to get inmates to court on time, it might be right.
We have a feeling Joe’s loaf won’t be featured on the program, though.

The series will have six episodes chronicling inmates’ stories and even promises an exclusive trip to “O Yard,” where 80 percent of the inmate population is made up of illegal immigrants serving time before deportation.
The network says it spent four months in Joe’s jails documenting some of America’s self-proclaimed “toughest sheriff’s” very “unusual policies.”
By “unusual policies,” the network is clearly referring to things like the pink undies, Tent City, and Arpaio’s use of chain gangs.
The first episode airs July 3.
