To comply with court orders in the Melendres v. Arpaio civil rights case, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is holding another “community meeting” on Wednesday.
The meeting will be conveniently located at an MCSO substation out in the woods.

–Joe Arpaio Heads to the Woodshed“The purpose of these meetings is to answer, when possible, public questions or concerns about the Sheriff’s Office’s involvement in a recently completed countywide DUI task force,” an MCSO press release says. “English and Spanish-speaking Sheriff’s personnel will be present and available to answer questions from the public.”

Filings submitted by MCSO last month indicate that the MCSO Lake Patrol division, located out near the Salt River tubing area northeast of all Phoenix civilization, was in charge of the agency’s participation in the DUI task force — hence the location.
U.S. District Judge G. Murray Snow’s order states, “The MCSO shall hold a community outreach meeting no more than 30 days after any Significant Operations or Patrols in the affected District(s).”
Despite the “countywide” operation, the only community meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. tomorrow at the lakes district, at 7307 North Bush Highway.
