Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne turned over some of the investigation into the Fiesta Bowl corruption fiasco to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office citing a conflict of interest that exists because many of the people being investigated are “clients” of the AG’s office because they’re elected officials.

However, he’s hanging onto the majority of the investigation — the part that doesn’t involve elected officials — even though some of those being investigated contributed to Horne’s campaign when he was running for attorney general. Not to mention, two high-powered Republican Arizona politicos who could help Horne should he seek higher office — which isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

“For Attorney General Horne to claim that prominent lobbyists Chuck Coughlin and Gary Husk are just names on a long list of contributors to his campaign strains believability,” Democratic Party Chairman Andrei Cherny said yesterday. “They are two of the most powerful men in state government and in Republican party politics.”

We want to know what you think: should Horne turn the entire investigation over to another agency?
