The Phoenix Police Department announced that following an investigation, it’s been determined that state Senator Scott Bundgaard should be charged with assault for the February 25, freeway fracas with his now-ex-girlfriend Aubry Ballard.
Ballard, on the other hand, was taken into custody the night of the incident, but released with the assault charge against her dropped.
Both Bundgaard and Ballard exchanged blows during the brouhaha — Bundgaard even had the shiner to prove it. Ballard suffered bruises on her chest and some cuts from when the senator allegedly threw her to the ground.
But should Bundgaard be the only one charged? Decking someone in the face can’t go unpunished — even if he’s a guy, and she’s a woman — or can it?
