Lots of calls and e-mails from folks wondering about the status of the Doug Grant murder case, which we recently wrote about in a two-part series.
A 16-person jury (including alternates) has been picked, and opening statements are scheduled for Wednesday, November 12, in the downtown Phoenix courtoom of Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Margaret Mahoney.
This one promises to be a doozy–excellent trial lawyers, a one-of-a-kind narrative, very shaky police work, and a defendant with “issues.” Grant (pictured) is charged with drugging, then drowning his wife Faylene at their Gilbert home back in September 2001, as three of their five collective children slept nearby.
