Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton, Councilman Michael Nowakowski and City Manager David Cavazos are jetting off to Mexico on a “trade mission” to strengthen economic ties with the country’s southern neighbor.

This is Stanton’s third visit to Mexico since taking office.

Stanton is leading a delegation with reps from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, Phoenix Convention and Visitors Bureau, and various Phoenix community organizations, according to a city press release.

Meetings are scheduled with Mexican government and business leaders including the U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, Earl Anthony Wayne, and Mexico’s Secretary of Foreign Affairs, José Antonio Meade Kuribreña
