Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon’s son, a Phoenix police officer, has been placed on paid administrative leave from the department.

Jeff Gordon, a department spokesman told the Arizona Republic yesterday, was placed on leave pending an internal investigation that “involves an allegation of inappropriate contact.”

Gordon is currently assigned to the department’s Central City Precinct. He’s been with the department for six years.

Police Chief Jack Harris has removed himself from the investigation to avoid any suggestions of a conflict of interest.
