As an elected official, Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne could make himself as relatively unseen as, well, Governor Jan Brewer.
But Horne likes to get his hands dirty every now and then in the legal field, arguing the law in person before judges. Did Terry Goddard ever do that?
Tomorrow at 2 p.m., you can watch Horne live or on the computer as he defends a state law prohibiting partisan elections in Tucson city government. He’ll be at the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, where the Arizona Supreme Court will convene temporarily for two cases.
We watched Horne’s performance before the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals back in June, during which he defended the rights of Arizona voters who passed a law requiring ID before voting. Although we’d heard some criticism of his Ninth Circuit appearance from a local lawyer, we’d still give him at least three stars.
