In May, we tried to disabuse believers of the idea that a scientific balloon viewed from the ground had extraterrestrial origins. But another balloon floating over the Valley a couple of weeks ago fired up imaginations again.

As commenters to our first balloon-UFO post reveal, it’s hard to convince some people these really are balloons. The case should rest on the above picture, taken by Jenny Williams, a contributor to Wired!, through a telescope.
