UPDATE (3:31 p.m.): We obtained court documents that show DMX’s probation violation was the result of cocaine use, not only failing to check in with his probation officer, as stated in this article. Click here for details.
Legally challenged hip-hopper DMX was arrested — again — yesterday for allegedly violating his probation.
This is now the sixth time “X,” whose legal name is Earl Simmons, has been arrested in Maricopa County. This time — had he not been on probation — it seems he didn’t break any laws.
All DMX reportedly did this time was fail to check in with his probation officer — which is illegal, but not the end of the world. However, he could still face some jail time.

DMX recently sat down with Fox 10 to discuss his past arrests, and his (ahem) favorite lawman, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
“I was in Tent City for awhile. I don’t take orders well or direction. [Arpaio] said, ‘You had an attitude problem.’ They talk to you any kind of way. At the end of the day, I am still a man,” DMX told Fox.
As for Arpaio, “X” told Fox, “hate would ruin my life. I wish him the best — good health, long life — leave me alone.”
We have a feeling his attitude towards Maricopa County’s geriatric law dog may have changed after his latest arrest.
DMX’s manager tells New Times his court date is scheduled for November 24.
