As we reported yesterday, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio claims to have some “shocking” information about whether President Barack Obama is eligible to be president.
As we also reported yesterday, we don’t believe it for a friggin’ second.
As you probably know, last month, Arpaio bent over for his far-right-wing-nut base and agreed to launch an “investigation” into whether Obama is eligible to be president.
On Tuesday, America’s self-proclaimed “toughest sheriff” told a group of Arizona Tea Partiers that he “can’t tell you everything, but there could be a shock there somewhere that my guys came up with [while investigating the continuously debunked “birther” conspiracy theory]. I can’t talk too much about it. It’s in the process.”

As humiliating as it may be that the elected head of one of the largest law enforcement agencies in the country is actually taking “birthers” seriously, what’s more humiliating is that Arizona voters actually buy it.
What kind of answer is “I can’t talk too much about it. It’s in the process?”
It’s the kind of answer a politician tells the blue-haired Sun City-ers who (continuously) fund his re-election campaigns.
That, of course, is our opinion. We want to know what you think: Is there a chance in hell that Joe Arpaio could be the man who finally proves Barack Obama is a Kenyon version of the Manchurian Candidate, or is this just more campaign-speak from a savvy politician to his naive base?
