Today’s the big day: Arizona Senate President Russell Pearce could potentially get a voter-assisted boot from his powerful position in Arizona state government.
Pearce has pulled out some of the slimiest stops imaginable to keep his current gig in the state Senate — recruiting a sham candidate with a Hispanic-sounding last name, and urging Democrats and Latinos to vote for non-existent write-in candidates to “protest this one-sided election,” for example.
Each of Pearce’s sleazy campaign tricks are merely attempts to steal votes from Pearce’s opponent, Jerry Lewis. More on that here.
Our colleague Stephen Lemons already has predicted Pearce’s political demise, but we want to know what you think: can Pearce escape today’s recall election with his job?
