Apparently Blake Obadiah Adams’ definition of “change” is a little different from Barack Obama’s — “change,” it seems, is what prompted Adams to inexplicably fatally shoot his girlfriend’s cousin on Valentine’s Day.
According to court documents obtained by New Times, cops say Adams shot and killed Maxwell Henley on Monday, in the front yard of his girlfriend’s home on the 1600 block of West Cocopah Street in Phoenix.
The girlfriend said she heard a gunshot and went outside, where she saw Adams standing over Henley with the pistol.
She saw him fire several more rounds into Henley, and then drop the pistol to the ground.

That’s when Adams told his girlfriend he had killed Henley for “change.”
The explanation he gave the cops for the shooting wasn’t any more promising.
Adams told police he had been smoking PCP earlier, and didn’t know why he shot Henley.
He told them he had purchased the .40-caliber pistol on Saturday to shoot his girlfriend’s recent boyfriend.
Instead, he shot Henley, who Adams says he had no plans on killing, and “felt badly that he had shot him today.”
After checking Adams into the hospital for the PCP use, he was booked into the 4th Avenue Jail, where he faces a charge of intentional second-degree murder.
