Q.
I’m stuck planning my office’s happy-hour party. Where’s a place that’s fun without being too loud and overrun with drunks?
A.
The only drunks at Cabo will be the ones you invite. The Mexican restaurant at Scottsdale Road and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard offers private parties on its patios, for up to 100 guests. Right now, patio space is free, all drinks are half price from 3 to 7 p.m., and Cabo will throw in a free buffet of wings, fajita chicken skewers, spinach con queso dip, cheese and crackers, and tortilla chips with salsa.
Q.
What’s happened to my favorite Chinese place, Rocky’s Golden Phoenix?
A.
The spot at 79th Street and Chaparral in Scottsdale is now called Fusion. I’m not sure why it’s fusion the menu looks pretty straightforward, with crab cakes, seared ahi salad, burgers, rack of lamb and char-grilled rib eye.
