Top rocks, flares, g-kicks, and airtracks? Attention, Valley residents: You’re so getting served.

Specializing in street-fusion dance, Arizona’s EPIK Dance Company is back at the Herberger Theater to present Common Ground, the follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2009 performance. With over 90 minutes of original choreography that combines contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, breakdancing, and punking styles into one step-worthy vision, this year’s production promises more insight into the diversity of the dancers and the mindset of movement.

Explains co-artistic director Luis “Weezy” Egurrola, “Common Ground takes these characters – people who seem to be such different pieces but all of the same giant puzzle – and brings them together to create a bigger picture.”

Opening acts will include the ASU Hip Hop Coalition, Furious Styles Crew, Neo Phon ‘Etix, and the Stilo Dance Company.
