In mid-February, days before ASU Baseball opened its 2010 slate, we wrote the following:
“The old bread and butter of hometown collegiate athletics, the ASU Baseball team, are in a wee bit of trouble. The defending three-time Pac-10 champions canned its head skipper, Pat Murphy, after fourteen successful seasons. And now, Tim Esmay (a man with limited head coaching experience), steps in. Yikes.”
So, we were kind of wrong about the being in trouble bit. Reason being, the Sun Devils, currently ranked number one in the country, rattled off 24 straight victories and didn’t lose their first game until April.
