In a sea of emo junior high kids, undead zombies, and angry religious types distributing pamphlets throughout downtown Phoenix’s First Friday art walk, there is a beacon of hope for art lovers looking to learn a little bit more about some of Phoenix’s best kept art-gallery secrets.
Just look for the lady in the red dress, aka Kara Roschi, who dons a flashy red frock and joins local performance artist Ernesto Moncada for The Red Dress Tours, your guide to some of the hippest stuff to see in the Phoenix arts district’s biggest monthly event. Meet at The Firehouse and then move along with the group to explore The Roosevelt District, which is known for some of the coolest contemporary art on the walk. While the event is perfect for out-of-town folk, it’s also a great way to get to know some galleries you may have overlooked as an art-walk veteran.
Participants are encouraged to wear red.
