Let us be the first to tell you that Mesa is officially a cool place to be.
It’s true, we swear. Particularly if it’s the second Friday of the month and you’re downtown.
Yes, the 2nd Friday in Downtown Mesa festival is at it again. This time, the “Winter in July: Ice Cream Social” theme promises 70 art booths, street performers, a benefit for Officer Mark Kelly, and, of course, ice cream galore. Presented by Downtown Mesa Merchants (which has a membership of more than 50 Mesa businesses – yowza!), the shindig rules the evening. BTW, Mesa calls this area “a square mile of unique style” and with art galleries like SunDust and OneOhOne; museums like Mesa Contemporary Arts and Arizona Museum for Youth; music shops such as 5 Star DJ Center and Milano Music Center: and, let’s not forget, the Flying Blanket Recording studio, we’re inclined to agree that there’s some serious style happening.
Go Mesa.
